Our Story
Truly Photography started as a way to pay for my college tuition. I would shoot sessions on the weekend and week nights to pay for my schooling. After I graduated I had to decide to continue to grow my business or retire and pursue my full time job as a web designer. A year later my first baby was born and my world completed changed. I longed to be with him during the day as he was at daycare. I made my decision and busted my butt to grow my business. By the time my second baby was born my business was busy enough to replace my corporate job.
This business is my dream. It allows me to be a stay at home mom by day and a creative by night. I've been able to meet incredible families and participate in the biggest moments of my client's lives, like their marriage or the birth of their baby. It's such a privlegde and I love it SO much.
2019 was my busiest year ever and I had to turn away lots of clients because I was too busy. I decided it was finally time to hire another photographer to continue to serve my clients. In 2020 Val joined the Truly Photography team and allowed us to serve double the clients.
Since 2020 we've been able to add two more photographers, Amalia and Missy, and our admin assistant, Lexi.

I was raised in the heart of Utah and have grown up photographing this beautiful state. I love thick grasses and colorful leaves. And I really really love light.

I’m Valerie, but everyone calls me Val.
I am a wife and a mother to four blondies.
I’ve been photographing families for nearly 15 years. Pretty and posed is fun but I especially love capturing the candid everyday life. My style is simple, light and bright.
I love all things design, being left handed and having all girls! I love hiking in our beautiful Utah mountains, thrifting for treasures, cookie dough, date night and rearranging my furniture.

Admin Assistant
Hi, I’m Lexi. I am the admin assistant here at Truly Photography. I send invoices and contracts, and I also do Pinterest and Facebook marketing. I love that my job allows me to stay at home and work flexible hours. Being a part of the Truly team has been a huge blessing and I love working with such wonderful women.
I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 7 wonderful years. I am also a stay at home mom to two little ones.
I look forward to continuing to grow with Truly Photography and can’t wait to see what the future holds.
