Lorena Canals Rugs:

On the way home from the hospital with my first baby he started crying. It was a loud cry that wouldn’t go away no matter how many times I climbed over the seat to put the binky in his mouth. My husband and I, new and exhausted parents, didn’t have the slightest idea of how to calm him. That same baby didn’t stop crying until he was about 6 months old, unless he was eating or sleeping. Turns out, he had pretty intense colic and reflux. So intense, in fact, that he was failure to thrive until he was about 9 months old because he threw up SO much. He ruined our couch, countless outfits, and even rugs because he threw up SO much.

To be honest, I was nervous about having another baby because I feared having another colicky baby again. I feared the endless crying and endless amounts of throw up. After a lot of talking my husband and I decided we could do it all again, with some changes. We were more mentally prepared for a difficult baby this time and we were more prepared for the throw up.

We invested in extra crib sheets, onesies, and blankets. We decided we would have baby try to nurse as long as possible to avoid having to purchase the incredibly expensive formula my son had to be put on to avoid throwing up. We also invested in some washable furniture including a beautiful, washable rug for baby’s room.

We received a Lorena Canals Rug in exchange for images and it has been one of the best things we got for baby. What is a Lorena Canals Rug? “Lorena Canals designs and produces rugs and textile accessories that are both stylish and practical. Made from 100% cotton, these rugs are machine-washable, meeting the needs of modern lifestyles.” To be honest, I didn’t know what the quality of the rug would be when I found it was 100% washable, but it’s amazing. It’s so soft and cozy and no matter how much baby spits up on it or the toddler spills his sippy cup on it, we can wash it. It’s seriously amazing.

We chose a blush rug to match baby’s room and it’s such a great piece in her room. I just love the color of it. I’ve found that over the past couple of weeks baby, toddler, and myself have spent a lot of time sitting, laying, and playing on the rug. When baby spits up (which is not near as often as my son did) I don’t have to stress because I can just throw the rug in the washer. It’s seriously THE best.
