10 Family Picture Poses You Need at Your Family Pictures Session
Spring is almost here and that means the start of family pictures season! Cue, it’s the most wonderful time of the year! I absolutely love shooting with families. It’s the best part of my job and allows me to be creative in such fun ways.
As you prepare for your family pictures this year, here are 10 poses that I love and you need at your family pictures session.
- Ring around the Rosie – I love having siblings or mom and the kids play ring around the rosie together. Playing this game creates the most darling joyful expressions and beautiful motion.
- Tickle fight – I love having a family tickle fight together. I love the big laughs and closed eyes that tickles brings out.
- Nose to cheek – I LOVE HOW SNUGGLY THIS POSE IS. See, I’m yelling at you because I love this pose so much! I love having mom or dad snuggle in a child and put their nose on the child’s cheek.
4. Running – I love having a family run together and create genuine laughter.
5. Child laying on lap – I love having mom down on the ground and having a child lay on her lap.
6. Nose to head – Similar to nose to cheek, I love this snuggly pose especially for parents or couples.
7. Mom and dad crouch down – I love having mom and dad get down to the kids’ height. I love how easy it is for the kids to be close and snuggle mom and dad!
8. Kid holding mom and dad’s hands + close up of just the child – I LOVE this kind of shot. I love having the child down on the ground holding one or both parent’s arms.
9. Kids kissing each other – I love having mom and dad hold the kids and then have the kids kiss each other.
10. Family walking – I love having a family walk together and play with + look at one another.

Hi, I'm Kayla!
I’m Kayla, owner and photographer. I started this business as a side hustle to pay for my college tuition and am so grateful for how much it’s grown. It’s such a privilege to be able to shoot with my clients, year after year. I can’t wait to work with your family!
