5 Tips to Take a Great Easter Family Photo

Easter is just around the corner and one of my favorite Easter traditions is taking a family photo of everyone in the front yard. This is a a classic Easter tradition and is creating a legacy image for your family to pass down from generation to generation. Here’s 5 tips to take a great Easter family photo.

  1. Shoot with the sun to the side of your subjects: this is a great way to get even light and to control the shadows. Have everyone sideways to the sun to get that great, beautiful light.
  2. Use a tripod: Use a tripod for your phone or camera to get a great shot with everyone in the picture. I like this cell phone tripod!
  3. Trade with a neighbor: if you don’t want to use a tripod, ask a neighbor to do a photo swap, that way they get a picture all together and so do you!
  4. Wear your Easter best: one of the best parts about taking a picture together on Easter is that everyone is dressed in their best. Having everyone dressed well will elevate your picture instantly.
  5. Take a playful picture: Take a formal picture, then squish in together, look at each other, and laugh. This posing tip will create a more candid, playful picture. I love this natural style of posing and it will create a cute shot!

Hi, I'm Kayla!

I’m Kayla, owner and photographer. I started this business as a side hustle to pay for my college tuition and am so grateful for how much it’s grown. It’s such a privilege to be able to shoot with my clients, year after year. I can’t wait to work with your family!
