Happy Golden Birthday Truly Photography!!

On October 6th my little business turned SIX! Happy Golden Birthday Truly Photography!

I can’t even put into words what the last six years with this business have meant to me. I started Truly Photography as a way to pay for my college tuition so that I wouldn’t have to take out any student loans. Because of the blessing that this business is, I was able to graduate 100% debt free. Then, two years later, my husband graduated debt free.

After my son was born almost 4 years ago I suffered from pretty traumatic postpartum anxiety. I had SUCH a hard time leaving him to go to work at a job I honestly hated. I cried day in day out praying for a way that I could stay home with my precious baby. I realized that my growing business was my way out. I set a goal that by the time my next baby was born I would be full time in my business, working for myself. I worked my butt off, working at my corporate job all day, shooting after wok, editing after baby was in bed, blogging and marketing every chance I got. It was a lot, but by the time baby girl was born I was able to quit my corporate job and stay home with my sweet babies. It has been such a blessing to me, my kids, and my husband.

I’ve had a lot of struggles in owning my own business from broken lenses and dropped hard drives to upset clients and social media hate mail. THIS HAS NOT BEEN A CAKE WALK. But I’ve also been privileged to be apart of some of the most sacred moments of people’s lives. I’ve shot babies being born, weddings, funerals. I’ve shot families on average days and on the most special days. And, I’ve been blessed to have the most wonderful clients that have turned into dear friends. And I’ve been able to create a job for myself that is a blessing to my family.

So THANK YOU for being here and supporting my family. Thank you for commenting on my pictures, cheering me on, referring clients to me, leaving me Google reviews, watching my kids, answering model calls, and just everything in between. I’ve been supported from day one and am SO grateful for that!
