Painted Canvas Backdrop Shoot | Utah Bridal Portraits
Painted Canvas Backdrop Shoot | Utah Bridal Portraits
OKAY, I’m officially obsessed with this Painted Canvas Backdrop Shoot. My goodness. I found the inspiration for this shoot on Pinterest (of course) and jumped head first into planning a Utah Bridal Portraits shoot with a painted canvas. It was such a fun creative project and such a fun way to be challenged.
I started researching painted canvas backdrops and quickly realized how expensive they were. SO, then I decided to research making one. I mean, it couldn’t be that hard, right? It was just paint on a canvas.
I searched on Youtube and found this video explaining the step by step process.
And then decided it looked easy, so I was going to try. I ordered a canvas drop cloth on Amazon, got some paint from home depot, and then got to work.
AND I’M OBSESSED. I opted not to do the base (primer) layer and instead let the backdrop soak in the paint to get more of a splotchy look. I feel like that made my back drop super unique and I honestly love it! These Utah Bridal Portraits are my new fav!

Hi, I'm Kayla!
