The Great Saltair is an incredible location for your next family photoshoot. While Utah’s many beautiful mountain locations are a classic backdrop for family photos, the white, salty sands and brilliant skies of this location will give your family photos an airy and bright feel that is also completely timeless and unique.
Finding the Great Saltair
The Great Saltair is located at 1075 S. 13312 W. in Magna, Utah. At just under 20 minutes from downtown Salt Lake City, this location is as accessible as it is stunning. When shooting family photos here, you’ll find it easiest to park at the south parking lot of the Great Salt Lake Marina State Park and then walk into the gated area.
Not to be Confused with the Salt Flats
The Great Saltair is sometimes confused with the Bonneville Salt Flats, but these are two separate locations. The Great Saltair is located in Magna, Utah while the Salt Flats are about an hour and a half away — near Wendover, Utah. Although both locations are beautiful, the beach access at the Great Saltair and the proximity to Salt Lake City make it a truly unique location.
