Fall family pictures at Tunnel Springs park are absolutely beautiful. If you’ve been to Tunnel Springs in the spring or summer you’re familiar with the gorgeous green rolling hills. Yet Tunnel Springs in the fall — when those grassy hills turn to a beautiful golden brown — is something else entirely. We love the soft neutral background the dry hills create almost as much as we love the tall reeds and vast fields. All of these features come together to make the perfect spot to take family pictures.

Ready to drive halfway to Timbuktu just to shoot in this fall fantasy? Good news, Tunnel Springs is conveniently located in North Salt Lake. In fact, it’s less than a 15 minute drive from downtown Salt Lake City. If you plan to shoot here, park in the gravel parking lot just past the park entrance. This will get you closer to the hills. Even still, you’ll want to walk a few minutes on the Bonneville Shoreline trail to get even deeper into the beautiful hills and farther from the crowds. We also recommend a color palette similar to the adorable Spooner family. The creams and tans are so lovely in this setting, especially with the pop of color in mom’s gorgeous maroon dress.
