Winter Family Pictures | Jordan Pines

This session was an absolute dream! There is something so magical about winter family pictures. Snow capped mountains, frosted pine trees, and all that beautiful light reflecting off the snow makes for a completely breathtaking backdrop for family photos. If you’re looking for a beautiful and convenient location for winter family pictures, look no further than the Jordan Pines campground. This awesome spot is just 15 minutes up Big Cottonwood Canyon, but you’ll feel like you’re in the middle of your own frosted forest wonderland.

If you’re scheduling a winter shoot at Jordan Pines, here are a few tips. First, wear good shoes. A cute ankle boot will look adorable but also keep your feet warm while you’re walking through snow. Next, bring extra layers. Try to find coats for your family that coordinate well with your planned outfits but are also easy to take off. This way your extra layers will look good in your pictures if you decide to leave them on, but they’re also easy to ditch if you want a few photos without the bulk. Lastly, hand warmers. Pack at pair of hand warmers for each member of your family, by the end of your shoot you’ll be so glad you did.
