Snowy Draper Temple Wedding | Winter Wedding Photography at Draper Temple
There is something unforgettable about photographing a Snowy Draper Temple Wedding in December. This wedding day at the Draper Temple in Draper, Utah was freezing, with soft snow falling and fresh powder covering the grounds — creating the dreamiest backdrop for timeless wedding portraits. At Truly Photography, winter temple weddings are some of my favorites to document because the snow reflects light beautifully and adds a romantic, elevated feel to every image.
Photographing a Snowy Draper Temple Wedding
One of the best parts of a winter temple wedding is the natural light. Even on cloudy days, the snow acts as a giant reflector, softly illuminating the couple’s faces and creating clean, bright images. The white backdrop simplifies the scene, allowing the focus to stay completely on the bride and groom.
For this Snowy Draper Temple Wedding, we worked quickly between bursts of snowfall and chilly winds. I always guide couples into natural, connected poses that keep them moving — which not only creates authentic emotion but also helps them stay warm. Bringing a warm coat to wear between shots and using hand warmers makes winter photography much more comfortable.
Temple exits typically happen on the hour or half hour depending on the sealing schedule, so timing is key. I help coordinate guests beforehand to ensure a smooth, joyful exit filled with cheers and celebration. Winter sealing days at the Draper Temple (generally Tuesday through Saturday) can book quickly, especially in December, so planning ahead is essential.
If you’re dreaming of romantic, light-filled Snowy Draper Temple Wedding photography, Truly Photography would love to capture your day in a way that feels timeless and genuine
