Why I LOVE Family Sessions | Utah Family Photographer

I am so blessed to be able to do something I absolutely LOVE for work and to be able to be home with my babies most of the time I’m working. I love shooting everything – products, weddings, bridals, babies, but my all time favorite type of shoot is a family session. There is so much to love about families, but here’s why I LOVE family sessions:

1. My family is the most important thing in my life and I know it is for everyone I photograph. Your marriage and your babies are everything and being able to celebrate that, through images, is seriously such a blessing. I love celebrating marriage, fatherhood, motherhood, and love – family sessions provide the opportunity to do all of that!

2. Every family is unique. I know that sounds cliche, but every family has it’s own personality and challenges for me the photographer. Sometimes the kids are super easy and sometimes everyone (including me) is crying. They are ALWAYS different and allow me to be creative.

3. I used to be scared to shoot family sessions (see the last paragraph. ha.) Literally, I used to have babies screaming and crying, kids running away, grumpy dads, and fear in my eyes haha. Then I realized that your kids don’t want to stand and say cheese. They WANT to play! They want to run and play ring around the rosies. That’s where the true joy comes from and the real fun is!

4. I absolutely LOVE kids. This honestly wasn’t true until I had my own kids. Becoming a mother is seriously life changing and mom Kayla just adores kids. I love talking to them and getting to know their little personalities. I love seeing a mom and dad absolutely soak in their children and to be able to capture that. Children are such a blessing and I LOVE photographing them.
