My Most Embarrassing Moment as a Photographer | Utah Family Photographer
YOU GUYS. I can’t believe I’m writing this and I’m going to tell you about my most embarrassing moment as a photographer, but here we go:
Prior to working full time for my business I worked for Intermountain Healthcare as a web designer and social media consultant. It was a wonderful job and I learned SO much that has applied to my job as a full time photographer as business owner. Part of my job included ensuring that all of my doctors had updated and correct information on their physician profiles that way new patients could find them online and schedule an appointment. We always needed pictures of our providers on their profile sites so naturally I would go take those quite often.
One day, I needed to take some updated pictures of a provider. I drove to his clinic and parked my car. It was POURING. I ran through the rain and accidentally stepped in a huge puddle. My shoes were s o a k i n g wet.
I got all set up to take some headshots and the doctor came over. He was really tall – a lot taller than me. So I quickly grabbed a chair to stand on and get a bit taller than him. We chatted as I shot until….until….until….I slipped on the plastic chair with my wet shoes and fell. HARD. On the ground. IN FRONT OF A DOCTOR. I laid on the ground for a second and processed what had just happened. Me, a grown woman who has given birth, fell on the ground in front of a doctor at work. It was easiest the most embarrassing moment of my photography career and maybe the most embarrassing moment of my life.
Also embarrassing, I had to get up, after I fell, and keep taking pictures.

Hi, I'm Kayla!
I’m Kayla, owner and photographer. I started this business as a side hustle to pay for my college tuition and am so grateful for how much it’s grown. It’s such a privilege to be able to shoot with my clients, year after year. I can’t wait to work with your family!
