Baby V | Utah Birth Photographer
Baby V | Utah Birth Photographer
This sweet baby was one of my favorite births to shoot as a Utah Birth Photographer. I lived next to his sweet parents for 3 years and just adore them. I remember first meeting Justin and Kenna at church and instantly loving them. We were the same ages and had both met our spouses in high school. They were SO fun. I spent countless hours laughing with Kenna and admiring her crazy good home/DIY/social media/and everything else skills. She’s so talented at anything she does.
We moved away last year and I have missed this sweet family ever since. Getting to photograph baby v’s birth was such a joy for me and getting to spend the night with Kenna and Justin was just the cherry on top.
Being a Utah Birth Photographer can be SO STRESSFUL. Like, I’m literally on call for basically 3 weeks. But it’s also a thrill. Getting the call, rushing to the hospital, and then witnessing a true miracle is an amazing thing to do for “work.”
Kenna texted me around 1pm that they had been admitted, so I mentally started getting ready for baby day. I called my mother in law and husband to figure out baby sitting, finished my grocery shopping, and quickly showered after my workout. Then, I waited for Kenna to progress. Just as my husband was getting home from work she told me it was time to come in. I zipped across the valley to her hospital and snuck in a few exterior hospital shots just before the sunset. Then I raced in the building only to realize I was at the wrong entrance. SIGH. So I hopped back into my car and drove to the correct entrance, snapping pictures as I walked through the hallway.
I arrived to Kenna’s room at about 6pm and about 40 minutes later baby v was born. Kenna was a BOSS and did so well. I cried as her sweet baby came into the world and felt SO MUCH JOY.
Birth is amazing. It’s incredible to witness a human being come into the world – so loved and with SO much potential. It’s a sacred and wonderful experience and I am always so humbled when I am trusted to be part of it.

Hi, I'm Kayla!
I’m Kayla, owner and photographer. I started this business as a side hustle to pay for my college tuition and am so grateful for how much it’s grown. It’s such a privilege to be able to shoot with my clients, year after year. I can’t wait to work with your family!
