Baby L | Newborn Photographer in Utah

Prior to having my baby I did not enjoy shooting newborn sessions. It’s not that I didn’t love the babies, because, hello, how could you not? I was just SO scared of them – I was scared of holding them and moving them. Also, I was scared of their new parents and upsetting them. You guys, being a newborn photographer in Utah is intimidating. I just wasn’t a fan.

Changing my mind about being a newborn photographer in Utah

THEN…I had my baby and my whole opinion changed. After holding him for the first time and experiencing a love I never knew I could love I became obsessed with the whole experience – maternity, birth, hospital, newborn, babies…everything about new babies became my favorite. I got over being scared of them and just learned to LOVE shooting them. I wanted to be a newborn photographer in utah so badly!

After doing this for a bit, I have a lot of good tactics to keep baby happy during these special sessions, which keeps me happy.

For newborn sessions, my favorite is to book a white studio. I absolutely love the white on white on white. I think it’s pretty symbolic of the cleanliness of a new baby. They are so innocent and have their whole lives ahead of them. They are SO special.

This sweet baby was SO good for his session. He was sleepy and so snuggly. He had the sweetest older sisters and you could tell, they were so happy to have him.

Some of my favorite newborn shots ever are from this session. I loved the brightness of this particular session and have loved the way the images turned out.

When to book with a newborn photographer in Utah

I typically recommend doing a newborn session within the first month of your baby’s life, so, if you’re interested in booking with me, book the month or so before your baby’s due date and we’ll get you on the calendar for your newborn session.
