Favorite Fall Wedding Trends 2019

As much as I love spring and summer weddings, it’s the fall wedding season that really speaks to my soul. There’s just something about the way the colors get deeper and the decor gets cozier that makes a fall wedding look as warm and serene as being in love feels. If you are planning a fall wedding, or if you just love to revel in the coziest of the seasons, read on for a few of my favorite fall 2019 wedding trends.

Fall Colors and Decor

As usual, deep color palettes reign supreme for fall 2019 weddings. Pair metallic elements with emerald green, sapphire blue, plum, or burgundy for an especially beautiful and rich combination. I also absolutely love brides who tie geodes and crystals into their decor. I’ve seen geode inspired invitations on display at receptions, geodes incorporated into centerpieces, and I am completely crazy about the crystals in this bride’s hair.

There’s also a lot of creativity in the bridal party’s attire. I love bridesmaid dresses that adhere to one color palette, but are varied in hue and style. Grooms might also add some variety to the color and pattern of their suits — a deep blue or plum suit with plaid is especially handsome.

Fall Wedding Foods

A trend I’ve seen online is a new version of naked cakes; translucent cakes are completely frosted but in a very thin layer that’s topped with a delicious caramel or ganache. Many brides are keeping cakes small (or getting ride of them completely) to allow space for creative desserts. This bride’s macaroon tower was as delicious as it was beautiful.

Another trend I’m loving is hardy comfort foods in small bites. I’m thinking rich and creamy Mac & Cheese in little ramekins or these awesome mini grilled cheese shooters highlighted in Utah Bride & Groom magazine.

Venues and Fall Florals

Changing leaves and impressive pines make the mountain venues in Park City ideal for fall weddings, but you can bring some of those same vibes into any venue through your floral arrangements. Aim for big, over-the-top bouquets and centerpieces that look wild, effortlessly arranged, and completely gorgeous.
