Jake + Amalia | Conservation Garden Engagement Session

Photographing  Jake + Amalia’s Conservation Garden engagement session was such a full-circle moment for me! I’ve known Amalia since she was just 14 years old, and she was an associate photographer with Truly Photography for several years, so getting to be the one behind the camera for her was so special.

We shot their session at the stunning Conservation Garden in West Jordan, Utah, and it truly couldn’t have been more magical. The garden was bursting with color—lush greens, blooming flowers in every hue, and that dreamy summer light streaming through the trees. It made the perfect backdrop for this sweet couple.

Amalia and Jake are clearly so in love—it was impossible for me not to smile the whole time! We did two outfit changes, and I especially loved Amalia’s beautiful dress from Ivy City Co.  I captured a fun mix of shots: close-ups, playful candids, romantic poses, and even some trendy “blurry” photos at Amalia’s request. I love when couples bring a bit of their own style and vision to a session!

One of my favorite close-up moments was capturing their freckles, Amalia’s gorgeous brown eyes, and Jake’s striking blue eyes. Those little details made the session feel even more personal and special.

It was such an honor to document this chapter in their love story . Amalia, you’re radiant—and Jake, it’s so clear how much you adore her.  Jake + Amalia, I can’t wait to photograph your bridals and wedding day, it will be such a treat!
