Orem Newborn Pictures | Baby D

The Orem Newborn Pictures are so special to me. I just adore this family (and their darling dimples) and loved being able to capture this special time in their family.

I remember crying in the weeks prior to giving birth to my second baby. I was SO worried my oldest wouldn’t feel the same amount of love that he’d felt his whole life. I was worried he’d feel replaced or forgotten. And most of all, I was worried I could never love another baby the way I loved my little boy.

There were SO many feelings (and lots of excitement) anticipating the birth of our daughter (baby #2). And the moment she was born all of those now seemingly silly fears melted away. My heart was big enough to love both my babies and give them everything. And I loved them both equally. It was incredible how in an instance everything changed.

Adjusting to Baby Number 2

I feel like things with our daughter (our second baby) were easier. The not sleeping through the night phase seemed easier because I knew it ended. Breastfeeding was easier because I took courses and was prepared. Bedtime was easier because we had a system. Healing from birth was easier because I’d done it before. There were so many parts that, for me, were easier the second time around and I’m SO grateful for that!

What’s harder about having two babies?

Oh my gosh, the one thing that seemed WAY harder was just getting out the door! As soon as you feel ready one baby needs a diaper change or a feeding or a binky. It seemed impossible to leave is less than an hour for a few months, but eventually even that got easier.

I loved shooting this sweet family as they brought baby #2 into their home. They were SO happy and adjusting so well. Baby D was just a dreamboat and literally slept the WHOLE session. Like, how?! He was perfect.
