Rogers | Extended Family Pictures | Qualtrics Gardens

the Qualtrics Gardens are beautiful and the perfect, private location for family pictures. One of the members of this family works for Qualtrics and was able to get us access to the gardens and they were a photographer’s dream. And there was a rooster! How neat is that? This was a beautiful extended family session at Qualtrics in Provo.

What to Expect at Extended Family Pictures

My normal extended family pictures consist of giant, group pictures with everyone. Then, pictures of grandma + grandpa and all the grandkids, then just the grandkids, then each separate family. It’s basically like a giant mini session night where everyone is related haha. Then, once we’re doing with all the smaller families we do the grandparents with their original kids and then the siblings. I try and do everything with the kids as quickly as possible so that they can be done.

Qualtrics Gardens

The Qualtrics are stunning! Qualtrics is a company based out of Provo, UT that now has locations all over the world. The Provo location has a beautiful garden in the back of the building that features a beautiful waterfall, shrubs and trees, a small creek, roses and arches, AND a rooster. It’s stunning! We shot this session around 7pm and it was perfect in the summer light. Plus, because of where the sun sets and the building, the sun from behind the subjects (family) bounced off of the mirrored building back on to the subject’s faces and it was beautiful! It was like a natural flash – so neat!

What to Wear for Extended Family Pictures

I always recommend not trying to match everyone for family pictures, but rather, coordinate colors and let everyone choose what they feel best in. This is especially true for extended family pictures. You want every family to be able to showcase their uniqueness. I love the colors and outfits choices from this session. No one is too “matchy matchy” and their colors are perfect.
