Sandy Family Photographer | The Holladay Family

Sandy Family Photographer is such a lucky title to have because there are SO many beautiful locations close to Sandy. This darling family session was shot at Spruces Campground up Big Cottonwood Canyon which is about 15 minutes from Sandy and is one of my favorite winter locations for family pictures. I love shooting at Spruces because it’s easy to find and get to, parking is free and there’s lots of it, the light is beautiful in the morning or afternoon, and literally you can step outside of your car and shoot – it’s SO beautiful. BUT, it is really cold in the winter. During this session the temperature was about 14 degrees. So dang cold.

When is the best time to take family pictures?

The Holladay family wanted to take family pictures because their youngest and only son is going on a mission to South America for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. As a missionary, he’ll be gone for two years teaching others about Jesus Christ and His gospel. Missionaries are amazing, but his family won’t see him for two whole years, so taking one last family picture was a must.
