Winter is approaching fast and so are snowy family pictures. I loved shooting this snowy session of this darling family!

3 Tips for Snowy Family Pictures

Doing snowy family pictures can be a little scary, but here are some tips to make your session enjoyable!
1) Dress in layers – Layers are a darling look in the winter and are SO functional in the cold. Dress everyone in various layers. Use tights and socks for your girls and jackets or puffer vests for your boys. Hats and gloves are even cute!

2) Bring hand warmers – hand warmers are a LIFESAVER for cold shoots. Bring a pack or two for everyone and stick them in pockets and shoes. Between shots and poses warm up your hands and keep your toes warm!

3) Take warm up breaks – Plan on taking warm up breaks in the car. Shoot the whole family together, then take a break. Let everyone stay in the car while mom + dad take pictures. And so on. Have a show going and the heater blasting and let everyone get warm.

BONUS TIP: annnnnnd if all of this still makes shooting in the snow sound terrible, book an in home session. I’ll come to you and shoot your family in the place you love most – your home. Here are a couple of examples: Logan in home session + Snowy in home session

Hi, I'm Kayla!

I’m Kayla, owner and photographer. I started this business as a side hustle to pay for my college tuition and am so grateful for how much it’s grown. It’s such a privilege to be able to shoot with my clients, year after year. I can’t wait to work with your family!
