Then and Now | Truly Photography

Then and Now – I always love looking back at my work to see the changes over the year. Photography is my art, but it’s also something I’ve practiced and practiced to become good at. The love for photography came naturally, but not the skill. I’ve spent countless hours reading about lenses, trying new techniques, and watching videos about editing.

When I started my business I can a canon rebel and an 18-55mm lens. I honestly didn’t know what I was doing and I remember, so vividly, sitting in my car 30 minutes before the shoot praying that I wouldn’t mess up. I WAS TERRIFIED. But having a photography business was a dream of mine, so I had to start somewhere.

My first ever, paid session, was a family session for my best friend’s sister’s family. They were THE cutest family and so sweet. They trusted me WAYYYY before I should have been trusted, and I’m so grateful for that.

Seeing the change blows me away. It’s hard to believe that these sets of images are taken by the same person, just 5 years apart.
