What is a Fresh 48 Session?

A Fresh 48 session is a type of photography session that takes place within the first 48 hours after a baby is born. These sessions are designed to capture the special moments and memories of a family’s first days together, and they are typically held at the hospital or birthing center.

What will my photographer capture during a fresh 48?

During a Fresh 48 session,  our team will capture candid and natural shots of the new parents and baby. This can include images of the parents holding their new baby, the baby’s first bath, the first diaper change, and the first family photos. Our photographer will also capture images of the baby’s details, the baby’s fuzz, hospital bands, hair, etc.

One of the main advantages of a Fresh 48 session is that it captures the raw emotion and vulnerability of the first days of a baby’s life.  Additionally, Fresh 48 sessions are perfect for parents who want to remember the details of their baby’s first days but don’t want to wait for a newborn session, or may not have time for one later on.

Another advantage of a Fresh 48 session is that it can be done in the comfort of the family’s home or hospital room, which can be a great way for the family to relax and be more comfortable during the session, and for the photographer to capture more natural and candid moments.

What is the difference between a newborn session and a fresh 48?

It is important to note that Fresh 48 sessions are not the same as newborn sessions, which are typically done within the first two weeks of a baby’s life and are more posed, and have more elaborate setups, and have more props. Fresh 48 sessions are more focused on capturing the natural and candid moments of the baby’s first days, while newborn sessions are more focused on capturing the baby’s appearance and features.
