Fall Family Photos with Baby in Utah | Big Sisters & Golden Aspen Snuggles
Golden aspens, deep green evergreens, two proud big sisters, and one tiny girl in a floral romper and yellow bow. These fall family photos with baby in Utah were full of snuggles, giggles, and so much sweetness, and this canyon was glowing at peak color.

Planning Fall Family Photos with a Baby
Bringing a baby or new walker to a session can feel like a lot, but I promise it’s easier than you think. A few things that help:
- Plan around naps and meals. A fed, rested baby is a happy baby, so pick a time that works with your little one’s schedule, even if it isn’t exactly golden hour.
- Pack snacks, a favorite toy, and wipes. I’ll keep the shots of baby moving so nobody waits around.
- Bring a blanket or a soft layer. Canyon evenings in October cool off fast.
- Let the baby set the pace. Some of the best frames happen when we follow their lead.
We started with the whole family together while the baby was fresh, and the laughter came easily from there.

Big Sisters and Their Baby Sister
Watching big sisters with a baby is one of my favorite parts of these sessions. These two crouched down to her level, held her hands as she toddled down the trail, and made her giggle over and over. It’s such a sweet season, and these photos capture exactly how it feels.

Each of the girls also got a portrait of her own. Older siblings sometimes feel a little overshadowed by a new baby, so giving them a moment in the spotlight matters.

Snuggles with Mom and Dad
Babies grow so fast, and these moments with Mom and Dad are the ones you’ll want to remember. Dad lifting her up to the sky, a kiss on a chubby cheek, and Mom holding her close among the golden aspens. I slipped in some black and white frames, too, because they make those cuddles feel timeless.

What to Wear for Fall Family Photos with Baby
This family’s outfits were so good with the aspens. A mustard sweatshirt with brown corduroys, an olive cardigan with a denim skirt and brown boots, a cream floral romper with a yellow bow for the baby, Mom in a brown knit top and chocolate satin skirt, and Dad in a gray textured blazer with a chambray shirt. A few tips:
- Build the palette around the baby’s outfit. A floral or patterned piece makes a great starting point, and everyone else can pull colors from it.
- Mustard, olive, and chocolate brown look beautiful against golden leaves and evergreens.
- Choose soft, comfy fabrics for baby so they stay happy, and skip anything scratchy.
- Mix textures like corduroy, knits, satin, and denim for photos that feel rich and cozy.
