Toddler Family Photos in Utah | Family of Three in Golden Fall Aspens
One curious toddler, a canyon meadow glowing with golden aspens, and two parents who couldn’t stop smiling at her. Toddler family photos in Utah don’t have to be stressful, and this sweet family of three is proof. We let their little girl wander, explore, and giggle her way through the grass, and the photos are everything fall should feel like.

Toddler Family Photos: Let Them Lead
Toddlers have big opinions and short attention spans, and I love that about them! Instead of asking a one-year-old to sit still and look at the camera, I follow her lead. If she wants to walk, we walk. If she wants to pick at the grass, I get low and catch her little hands and that serious, curious face. Mom and Dad simply play with her, and the real moments happen all on their own.
Walking shots are my secret weapon with toddlers. Holding both parents’ hands keeps little ones happy and moving, and it gives you those classic family-of-three images with fall color all around.

Tips for Photos with a Toddler
- Schedule around naps. A rested toddler is a happy toddler, so pick a time that fits her routine.
- Bring a snack and a favorite little toy, and save them for the moment we need a reset.
- Get down on her level. Crouching, kneeling, and sitting in the grass makes everything feel like play.
- Don’t stress about smiles. Some of my favorite toddler frames are the quiet, curious ones.

Sweet Moments with Mom
Every mom deserves photos with her baby, and this little girl clearly adores hers. A snuggle in the golden grass, tiny hands on Mom’s cheeks, and a big belly laugh tucked into her lap. These are the images you’ll look back on and remember exactly how small she was.

Little Details, Big Personality
Before she was done exploring, I grabbed a few portraits of her on her own. That rust knit dress with the cream collar and striped cuffs was the cutest thing, and those blue eyes against the soft fall meadow are simply perfect.

What to Wear for Toddler Family Photos in Fall
This family nailed a warm, vintage-inspired palette that looked beautiful with the yellow aspens. Their little girl wore a rust orange knit dress with a cream collar, Mom wore a dark green plaid dress with a tiny rust print and tan sandals, and Dad wore a soft sage button-up with khakis and brown boots. Here’s how to get the look:
- Start with your toddler’s outfit. A bold, cozy piece in rust or burnt orange makes a great anchor for the whole family.
- Let the parents pull colors from it. Mom’s plaid repeated the rust, while Dad’s sage shirt and khakis kept things soft.
- Pick comfy fabrics for little ones. Soft knits keep toddlers happy, and happy toddlers make the best photos.
- Choose shoes that can handle a meadow. Sandals and boots worked perfectly on the grass.
