Brother and Sister Family Photos in Utah | Fall Family of Four
A big sister, a little brother, a canyon meadow lined with white-barked aspens, and a whole lot of running. These brother and sister family photos in Utah were pure fall magic. This family of four showed up in warm caramel, plaid, and blush, and their two kids brought nonstop giggles from start to finish.

A Family of Four Fall Session Full of Movement
With two young kids, I keep things moving. We started with a simple walk through the meadow, everyone holding hands, and I asked the kids to look up at Mom and Dad. That one little prompt gives you natural smiles and the connection that makes a family photo feel like your family.

Then I let the kids loose. A race toward the camera while Mom and Dad snuck in a hug behind them turned into one of my favorite images of the night. Kids love having a job, and “run as fast as you can” is always a winner.

Brother and Sister Photos
Sibling photos are some of the most treasured images from any session. Big sister wrapped her little brother in a huge hug, cheeks squished together and smiles for days. Right now they’re best buddies, and these photos capture exactly how they fit together at this age.

Each of the kids got a little one-on-one time, too. Sister was all sweet smiles in her blush leopard dress and pink headband, and little brother couldn’t stop laughing in Dad’s arms.

Tips for Brother and Sister Family Photos
- Give them a game. Races, tickle prompts, and “squeeze your sibling” hugs bring out real laughter.
- Keep sibling shots short and sweet. A few minutes of hugging goes a long way with little kids.
- Let older siblings help. Big kids love being in charge, and it keeps the little ones engaged.
- Plan a small treat for afterward so everyone has something fun to look forward to.
Time for Mom and Dad
I always save a few minutes at the end for Mom and her husband. You spend so much time taking care of your kids that photos of the two of you can get forgotten. My favorite little trick: let the kids run circles around you while you just look at each other.

What to Wear for Fall Family Photos with Siblings
This family’s palette was warm, cozy, and easy to recreate. Mom wore a caramel ribbed midi dress with a tie waist and white sneakers, Dad and son matched in brown and cream plaid flannels over white tees and jeans, and big sister wore a blush leopard-print ruffle dress with a pink knotted headband. A few tips:
- Let dad and son coordinate. Matching flannels are adorable and tie the family together without everyone matching.
- Give big sister a soft pop of color. Blush and pink look gorgeous against golden grass and fall leaves.
- Anchor the palette with warm neutrals like caramel, brown, and cream.
- Wear shoes kids can run in. White sneakers look fresh and handle a meadow just fine.
